Chair Redo

While scouring Value Village for treasures, I found this beautiful (minus the fabric) chair. I left without it that day, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. Now it is sitting in my living room, just waiting for me to give it a little TLC.

Being a college student, the furniture in my house is a mod podge of hand-me-downs from parents and grandparents. That being said, all of the furniture doesn't really match or have a particular style. But I do have a small black coffee table, so I decided to match the chair up with that. So I'm thinking black wood, with a printed fabric. Not sure what kind of print yet, but I am staying away from floral. I'm thinking ikat, suzani or something geometric. Here are some of my current inspirations. I need to get workin'!

Svenskt Tenn

I would love to wrap my entire home in textiles and design from Svenskt Tenn, an interior design shop in Sweden. Just being able to visit the shop would be pretty rad too. Visit their website here.

Dala

Being the Swede I am, I have always loved Scandinavian design (Ikea!) During my recent trip to North Dakota to attend my cousin's wedding, my sister, dad and I visited the Scandinavian Heritage Park in Minot. My favorite part was of course the 30 foot Dala horse!

Above is my sister Amber (left) and me on the right. We flew out of Seattle at around midnight, and didn't arrive into Minot until about 11am. We then hopped off the plane, ate some lunch, and headed to the park. Needless to say, we were all feeling very tired and a bit haggard that day. We all had such a good time catching up with aunts, uncles and cousins; the last time we had been to North Dakota was about six years ago. We hope to make it back much sooner than that!

This visit to the Scandinavian Heritage Park rejuvenated my love for the Swedish toy horse known as the Dala horse. I can't get enough!

Yelena James

"Allusion" by Yelena James

I stumbled upon Yelena James's artwork on Esty, and have been swooning ever since.

"Season" by Yellena James. My personal favorite.

"Season" attempting to brighten up my very beige walls. My shitty camera does the walls way more justice than the artwork.
