Any other huge green tea latte fans out there? They are so tasty, and can be a nice break from coffee. That being said, some places make them waaayy too sweet which kind of cancels out the health benefits of the matcha. Solution to this problem? Make your own!
I made my matcha iced tea with a bit of coconut cream to give it flavor and richness. You can do without if you wanna cut back on the calories, but I say treat yourself :). In order for the matcha powder to mix with the milk without clumps, you need to mix it with some hot water first, then add lots of ice cubes and cold milk.
Iced Coconut Green Tea Latte
1/2 tbs. matcha powder
Approx. 4 tbs hot water
1 tsp. honey (2 tsp. if you want it sweeter)
1 tbs coconut cream
Milk (any kind will work)
1. Bring about a half cup of water to a slow boil, then remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together matcha powder and hot water to form a very concentrated matcha liquid.
3. Add honey and coconut cream, whisking together to incorporate.
4. Place mixture in a tall glass, add ice cubes and fill glass with milk. Stir and enjoy!
